Manilla box on Desktop

For some reason, if I bring up the Spark window after it’‘s been minimized to the system tray for a while, occasionally I’‘ll have a manilla box appear on the desktop that does not go away. It’‘s not a screen anomaly, as usually those go away if you put another window on top of it. This box basically stays on the desktop and covers up anything underneath it until you logout or restart. The manilla box is approx. 2 inches long, about 1/2 inch high (I’'d give pixel measurements but I have no idea). Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for your help.

OS? Java version? Spark version?

Do you mean some white color box? Screenshot would help. Place it here:

I noticed this yesterday as well. Its Windows version of spark 1.0.3 and Im running XP Pro. How do I tell what Java version Im running?

I will grab a screen shot and post it up if it shows up again.

Its definitely spark causing it, nothing makes the box go away like a regular screen anomoly, but when you close spark down completely, it vanishes.

Thanks

How do I tell what Java version Im running?

example: Control panel > Add or Remove Programs > J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6 if you are not using JRE bundled with Spark. But in either case it shouldnt matter i think. I think you are right that this is a Spark problem.

I definitely grabbed the version of Spark that had the JRE bundled, but Java is installed on my workstation as well. When I look in Add/Remove programs, I see:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4

and

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

OS: Windows XP SP2

Java Version: Whatever is bundled with Spark 1.03

Spark Version: 1.03

ah i see now. Sometimes such boxes are produced by tooltips. Had such boxes leaving with some buggy plugin in Firefox. Havent seen it with Spark yet, though i dont use it too much.

You have installed 6 over the 4, so now you have two registry entries. Me dont like this, so i first uninstall previous version usually. Dont know if it should be done but i feel better
