Looks like the windows version is broken. File size is 1/3 of previous file sizes and during install I get "The cabinet file ‘disk1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. … ".
Haven’t checked Mac or Linux versions.

I will second that, I tried both of the .msi versions & both error out with the “the cabinet file ‘disk1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used…” Back to 2.5.5 for me.
The linuxplugin.jar is also missing from the linux release.
Given that the MSI issue was addressed here you may delete my dicussion from eralier today
Thanks for the bug report. It looks like the msi builds were corrupted when copied over from another server. As for the linuxplugin, that is coming in the 2.5.7 beta release due out this Thursday. It will actually be part of the jniwrapper plugin.

Strange. On Win2000 i see Tasks and Notes buttons on 5 and 6 positions in the toolbar. On WinXP Notes button is on the 1 somehow.

I can’t change the width to a small value after making it wide to display all icons. While I really like to have icons in Spark I dislike the width. I’d like to see either a “[x] small icons” option or one should allow to change the width and hide the icons, preferably the inactive ones first.
Hi Oleg, there’s SPARK-378 - maybe you did hit this one and it depends on the computer power and not on the OS.

I’ve noticed the same thing, cannot make the window smaller. Are the “Notes” and “Tasks” new editions, or have I just missed them before?

They were hidden features (with shortcuts like Ctrl-F* i think).
Same here. I can’t install the Online .msi package. I need it to try a deploy via windows instaler and group policies.

I confirm there is a problem with the MSI package. At first I thought:
“Geez! They finally managed to make the online MSI package smaller than the EXE one. That’s great!”
Then I noticed that it was really smaller. And that it was exactly 9MB in size, which is too round to be good
The installation confirmed my fears with the corrupted CAB. The EXE is working fine though

Is there a timeframe for resolving this issue? Obviously an MSI is the preferred method within a corporate environment and it’s a little concerning that a corrupt MSI can make it to the release site, and not only make it there, but still be there several days later.
By the way, does the installer handle removing the old version, or does this need to be done before installing the new one? Does it handle uninstalling the application when it’s already open?
From what I’ve seen in my little testing environment, the new version msi file could run into issues if you don’t uninstall the old version first. So, if your deploying spark via a group policy, then you just set up the option in the GPO for the new version to upgrade the old version. When you do that, there’s an option to uninstall the old version first.
2.5.6 seems to be broken. I tried both msi files and they fail. The exe completed but when I tried to start the client, it just dies. I do not see any errors.
SPARK-833 MSI cab file issue
Are there no plans to fix the MSI release for this version? Shouldn’t you at least link back to 2.5.5 rather than keeping a broken file in place?
EDIT: According to the post above, it would seem not.
I managed to download previous MSI’s just by changing the URL
i.e:

Its not solved yet. The issue is closed but the msi for 2.5.6 still dont works.
