oops, i seem to have a problem with the ./messenger.sh file:
[/usr/local/jive_messenger_2_1_0/bin]# ./messenger.sh
: bad interpreter: No such file or directory
[/usr/local/jive_messenger_2_1_0/bin]#
i was able to “fix” it by coping the messenger.sh from the last night build into the new beta dir.
How do we use the plug in that came with the distribution?

i don’'t know what was wrong with it what i posted before is what i got back when i tried to run the service.
Another change I’‘ve noticed is that the rooms don’‘t retain the description field after the server has been restarted, keep in mind I am running the database from the previous night’'s build. Will that have something to do with it?

Hmm, I can’'t duplicate this issue. What database are you using? Any messages in the error log?

MySQL. per say I go into the group listing and i see all my groups but i don’'t see descriptions, if i input them again and restart the server the descriptions dissapear as well. Another interesting thing is the fact that also when I restart the server the anonymous logging setting defaults to “allow anonymous logins” even though i had disabled that feature. Should I start with a new DB? if so how do i merge my users from the old db to the new one?

In your previous post you said room descriptions get lost… I’‘ll test with group descriptions and will also check on the anonymous setting. You shouldn’‘t need to create a new database, but I’'ll let you know what I find during testing.

Verified this bug – in the issue tracker as JM-111.

I can’'t duplicate this issue. Do you have a property “xmpp.auth.anonymous” set to false? Click on server properties in admin console to view them…

We’'re going to do a Beta 2 release on Tuesday or Wednesday – with that release, I would probably label 2.1.0 “production ready” – of course the final release will be on Friday.
