Active Connections for Single Openfire 3.10.2 Server

Good day all,

I am trying to figure out about how many connections a single Openfire server would be able to handle at one time and still maintain usability? I plan on having right around 650 users though I doubt they will be connected at the same time. Do I need to start looking the Hazelcast plugin?

650 shouldn’t be a problem for a single server. I recently used a stress test script to generate up to 4k concurrent user on a vm with 1 vcpu and 1gb of ram.

However, clustering also comes in handy for high avail.
