Active Directory Avatar Retrieval

HI Guys,

I have a question about the retrieval of user photos from Active Directory. I know that Openfire can use the Active Directory jpegPhoto attribute to retrive images and display them as avatars, I’ve tested this and been happy with the results. However, I was wondering if you could specify a URL stored in an Active Directory attribute instead.

The reason I ask this is because we’re currently rolling out Microsoft Sharepoint and it doesn’t seem to support the use of the jpegPhoto attribute and favours URLS instead. It doesn’t make sense for us to have employee information located in two places in Active Directory, so I was wondering if Openfire was flexible enough to use URLs instead?

If anyone can shed any light on this situation, I would be very grateful.

Many Thanks…

Hi Chaps,

Does anyone know the answer to this?
