Admin console SSL broken

When I try to log into the admin console on port 9091 I get a blank page. I’ve tried deleting and recreating the server certificates several times. I’m using OpenFire 3.3.2.

I can’t possibly imagine that I’m doing something wrong. Here are the steps I’m following:

  1. Install OpenFire

  2. Do initial setup

  3. Go to the admin console on port 9091

I’m obviously using the default self-signed certificates. If I use 9090 it works fine, but that is not acceptible. I’ve also tried deleting and recreating self signed certs to no avail.

If I should be doing something other than this it should be made EXPLICITLY CLEAR ON THE CERTIFICATE PAGE. Seriously, I do not understand why certificates are such a problem every single time I upgrade or modify openfire.

Hi,

I really what you do to get a blank page, I could image that you try http://…9091/ instead of https://…9091/.

Did you recreate the certificates on http://…:9090/ssl-certificates.jsp so they match your server name?

If I try http://…9091/ it closes the connection immediately. If I try https://…9091/ it returns a blank page.

I didn’t need to do that because it’s the same name, but yes I’ve tried recreating the certificates several times.
