After plugin update it disabled and unavailable

the plugin problem is NOT been resolved after upgraded from 3.1.0 to 3.1.1

Hi, sorry for my comment but isn´t this taking a little too long to solve ?

This is a major bug, and probably the one that´s causing more impact in all users…

Thanks for your attencion.

Hey guys,

I’'m sorry to hear that it is still not working for you. I tried to reproduce the problem locally and it worked fine for me. Anyway, we figured out that JM-883 could be potential explanation for this problem and fixed it for 3.1.1.

Could you try deleting the conf/server-update.xml and conf/available-plugins.xml (after stopping the server) and try again? It is possible that the existing files have the incorrect character encoding.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

– Gato

it’'s still not working after i deleted the conf/server-update.xml and available-plugins.xml. the following lines is the error message. by the way , the language i set to wildfire is Simplified Chinese (zh_CN).

Hi, tried that without updating to 3.1.1 and didn´t worked.

My version is in english and I´ve made a fresh install.

Later on I will try to upgrade to see if it works.

Thanks

Hi, I´ve upgraded and removed the files as you I´ve told, but it remains broken

Same old problem…

Any news regarding this ? I can´t use plugins at all, and probably I´m not alone on this…

I´ve made the same exact procedure on a windows and it all went well. This problem was on red hat linux.

Please check this.

Thanks

Ah ha! Now that’'s an interesting clue. Can you check the permissions on the conf directory? Is the user running the Wildfire process allowed to create new files there?

Regards,

Matt

Hi, nice idea, but it can write there.

The user is jive and is the owner of all dirs and files.

I even deleted the files that were mentioned in conf and the files were created.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ahh, bummer. We’'ll just have to test under Linux to see if we can reproduce.

Of course, you can manually download plugins and drop them into your plugins directory as a workaround until we can get to the bottom of this.

Regards,

Matt

Hi, that´s the first thing I´ve tried and it bwhaves the same way. They don´t work at all.

Hi, who can help us to solve this problem? i’'m sorry but it take a long time…

Hi.

I upgraded to 3.1.1 this morning and that broke the search plugin. (Which is how I found this thread).

The system wouldn’'t let me reinstall the plugin, believing it to be installed I guess. So I renamed the search.jar file in the plugins folder. Then the admin console showed the plugin as available to install, which it did and it now works.

(Right, apologies if this has already been suggested, I’'ll go and read the comments now - wrong way round, but there you go

Hi, tried everything inclusing that, but didn´t worked…

I´m more than a month witout plugins…

after i restarted the server, the plugins worked fine… but when i clicked the “updatePluginsList” in the admin webpage, the problem comes again.

I fixed the problem some time ago. I deleted the jar files from the plugins directory. Then just installed them again from the web interface. Worked great.

Done that twice and the problem remains…

to whom mighr interest, my problem is solved without I can understand why.

I´ve got it instaled on a red hat 9 VPS. My vps was with increasing load and unstable and I asked my host company to move me to a diferent VPS.

After this move, the plugins started working. Another thing that wasn´t working for a long time became working again the https access to the admin area.

I´ve no guess why the move made this work, but probably something to do with users and permissions, since I´ve upgrade from a older version in the old VPS.

Where exactly IS the plug-ins directory on the website? I remember that you used to be able to go to download then find a link to the plug-ins but I don’‘t see it. I went in this morning and updated broadcast, content and presence on my 3.0.0 box and they stopped working. They show up as available, but won’‘t let me d/l anything for them. Anyway I can get the PRE-3.1 plugs so I can put them back in place? I didn’'t realize the post 3.1 plugs were incompatible.

Jeff

I found the directory for D/L ing the plugs, however I was forced to go and find my older backups and get those. the one I do not have however is the 1.3.0 Content.jar for the filter. anyone know where I can get that one. it is pre-3.1, which is what I need.
