Yes, they can do this in their clients. What client do you use? In Spark you should press on transport’s icon and choose “Enter login information”.
Is this possible with Pidgin?
I think it should. Dont want to install Pidgin to test that. Try browsing available services in Pidgin or like that. There should be transports services in there, so you can register with them.
P.S. as Pidgin can have ICQ account out of box, maybe there is no support for transports, and no need actually.
