I think, again feedback is welcome, that the CM needs

to store a least the complete stanza in memory before

delivering to the server…or at least enough to

determine routing or priority and then deliver. If

so then an efficient means of storing the xml in

memory is required to scale.

Are you sure? Let’'s say that each packet (stanza) is 1K, which I think is a fairly resonable estimate. Even with 10K connected users, I believe that only works out to be 10 MB of memory used. Fast Infoset could still have other benefits, of course, especially if it decreased CPU usage on the core router.

10mb isn’‘t that much for 10k users. The math in my head was wrong. I think at some point I tried 1mb per user which is 10GB. I guess I never shook the notion that we’'d be dealing with very reasonable loads.
