Asterisk-IM Phone Mappings

Was wondering if someone can confirm that I have setup things properly. I currently have 2 extensions 200, 201 on my asterisk server with 2 sip phones using them and working fine. I want to integrate Asterisk-IM with to usernames djones and cjones.

djones has the phone with extension 200 and cjones has the phone with extension 201. What would I put in all the files for phone mappings?

Here’'s what I have:

Username: djones

Phone: SIP/200

Extension: 200

Caller ID DJONES

Primary is checked.

For the other one here is what I have:

Username: djones

Phone: SIP/201

Extension: 201

Caller ID DJONES

Primary is checked.

When I call one extension to the other, the Trillian client properly states that there is an incoming call. When I go to place a call from the Trillian client, though, I get a “goodbye” right away when my phone associated with the originating call rings and is answered.

Any ideas? Also, what does “Primary” mean?

Thanks!

DJ

Could you check if you specified the right context in your Asterisk-IM setup?

I’‘m not sure what the ‘‘primary’’ checkbox does either. I didn’'t check it.

That fixed it! In my case I had to put in from-internal

Thanks!

If you only have one device mapped primary isn’'t necessary. Primary is used when you have more than one device. Your primary device will be used when originating/forwarding calls.
