Authorisation required after deleting Distribution List

We are using OpenFire XMPP server with Pidgen clients.

Yesterday we deleted our main Distribution List from AD: DL_Everyone and created a new one DL_NewEveryone

This had the unintended consequence of messing up things in Pidgen - previously users within the domain could be seen online. Afterwards, all users showed as offline and it’s now necessary to request authorisation for every individual user.

My assumption is that there was a setting in OpenFire which automatically authorised all users within the DL, but I can’t find any setting which seems to relate to this.

Can anyone assist with this?

Solved this myself - you need to go into Groups, then click on the new group which you want to appear in users’ pidgin client. Then you get the option required.

Easy enough when you know how.
