Being completely new to WildFire it would be useful to get a pointer on where to download the LDAP module.

did you check out the Readme & License link on the Download page?
It will take you to the LDAP Guide.
There is no module needed.

Well the honest answer is not completely. After installing WildFire and being distracted by forum answers then several screens later I guess I missed the obvious.
