Bug Report: Reinstallation Invalidates Status for Remote Buddies

Running OpenFire 3.5.2 on Sun Solaris 10 SPARC.

I installed OpenFire, ran it with no problems. Connected to the server using iChat, and made a bunch of friends with Google Talk users.

I then reinstalled OpenFire. I then re-made all the friends with the Google Talk users. This time, the usual “waiting for authorization” phase didn’t happen; they were added immediately.

However, after I reinstalled OpenFire, I always appeared offline to those Google Talk users, even when I was online and messaging them.

I was able to fix the issue by asking them to remove me as a contact, and removing them on my side, and then re-adding them and getting re-authorized.

Is this a known issue? Is there any other workaround?

ditto. i reinstalled to investigate whether HybridAuthProvider would work for us and now the entire authorization system is broken. All users are always unauthorized and the authorization prompts never appear for anyone. Nuking all client settings has had no effect.

Are you adding gtalk contacts directly or via IM Gateway/Kraken plugin?
