Cannot use the Dial button from Spark in 1.1

This appears to be a problem that people know about, but I haven’‘t seen much discussion about it and no word on a fix yet. If I’'m just missing it, please let me know.

Using Spark 1.1.4, Asterisk-IM 1.1.0, and Asterisk 1.2.6, if I try to initiate a call, the window in spark comes up saying it’'s calling, but my phone never rings. The following appears in the error log:
