Can't connect database

Hi,

it is my first time to install openfire and i´m not a specialist on SQL Server

We work with Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000

I buildt a new database und a new user.

In the wizard i get no connection to the database

I don`t know, what things miss.

Maybe it is easy for one of you, but at the moment i have no idea.

Is it a problem of the useraccount, of the database or of the interface?

Thanks a lot!

Sylvia

This error I get in the the logs:

I’m not a SQL expert either, but “Connection refused” looks like the lack of correct credentials to connect to SQL and SQL is refusing your connection from Openfire.

Also, have you read DB installation guide?

http://www.igniterealtime.org/builds/openfire/docs/latest/documentation/database .html#sqlserver

Hi,

thanks for the answer.

I think I have the right register lilke

DRIVER: net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver

URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://server01/openfire;appName=jive

I have create a database before with the name above.

Sylvia

what did you name the database container for the openfire database? Is it openfire or jive? Depending on that it the string may be

URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://server01;appName=openfire

or

URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://server01;appName=jive
