Can't get client to see new AD users in OpenFire 4.0.2

I can’t see the new users in mobile Jabber clients or Spark 2.77 (more importantly).

What happens is the LDAP seems to be working as I can see the added AD users in the Openfire console with the Openfire AD security group listed.

I go to the client. Log on as this new user, see the rest of the users. I move to any different user on another machine and I can NOT see the new user.

Log out and log back in, to be sure, and I still can’t see that new users. The only way I know how to may the new user visible is to

restart the OpenFire service, which leads to the wailing and moaning of users, as you can imagine.

Any ideas?
