Can't get Spark chat windows to pop up on top of other windows

Hi,

I’ve just installed OpenFire server (using the simplest server set-up settings) and Spark chat clients on five machines on our LAN and all seems to be pretty good so far.

However one thing I can’t work out is how to get chat windows to pop up on top of your other windows when someone starts a new conversation with you (or continues an existing conversation).

I’ve looked through the previous threads I could find on the subject and I’ve tried changing the relevant settings in Spark preferences but I can’t seem to get anything to work.

We are on Mac OSX 10.6.3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - presumably it’s something simple and I’m just being thick!

Thanks,

Fraser

What version of Spark are you using? What version of Java?

Hi Patrick,

Spark is the latest version I could download, I think - 2.5.8

Java details from OSX:

java version “1.6.0_17”

Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04-248-10M3025)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.3-b01-101, mixed mode)

Thanks,

Fraser

Try the 2.6.0 beta 2: http://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/beta.jsp, if that doesn’t work then try the SVN release.

Hi,

I’ve tried the 2.6.0 beta2 but it hasn’t made any difference.

I’m not sure how I’d use the SVN release?

Does anyone know if this is a known issue with the Mac version? I haven’t seen any other references to it in the forums, so presumably not? Could it be something in the OSX settings somewhere?

Thanks,

Fraser
