Change Another User's Status / Group Admin


One of the questions that arised after we rolled out an Openfire Enterprise and Spark setup was, if a user is out of the office because they called in sick and they’re logged in, can their supervisor (listed as an admin in their roster group) change their status to “Out sick”? If so, how?

If not, what on earth is the group admin checkbox for? They can’t log into the web admin, and i don’t see anywhere how they can add or delete people.

Hi Paul,

Currently there is no way to change a user’s state. The only option in this regard would be to terminate their connection from the openfire console. The roll of group admin is to allow that user to act as an admin for any group chats, and gives them the ability to create these chats.
