Chat with a user who is not in your roster?

Dear All,

I have a quick question. can I customize a client(such as spark) so that I can chat with any user without adding that user to my roster first? is it possible? will openfire support this kind of behavior?

You can do this at the “as needed basis”

as long as you know that person JID you can initiate a chat with them

Not sure how other clients do it but in SPARK if you select:

Then:

Should work, you can drop the "@mycompany.com" if the user is local however the full address to be safe
