Connection Error - cryptographer in Pidgin

Hi,

I’m new with XMPP services (clients and servers) and I have a issue/problem about connection between Pidgin (version 2.10.7) and Openfire (version 3.8.2).

When I try to connect with Pidgin, the application doesn’t connect and return this error: **“You required cryptography, but this server can’t support.” **Is showed in portuguese.

The server is:

  • a virtuall machine whith Debian 6;

  • Java version “1.6.0_27”. OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.12.6) (6b27-1.12.61~deb6u1). OpenJDK Client VM (build 20.0-b12, mixed mode, sharing)

  • Openfire server (3.8.2) with HSQL Database;

  • authentication scheme is LDAP (Active Directory);

The most strange thing (for me) is in Openfire server, the 5222 port isn’t showed as listening port. I tried to disable the 5223, disable de local firewall, allow connections from any to server in 5222 port in network firewall, and the error persists.

Is necessary to do something more for Pidgin and Openfire to work with cryptographer connection in 5222 port?

The Pidgin debug log is attached.

Thank’s for your attention.
