Creating broadcast groups

I’m wondering if there’s a way to create a broadcast group that would be a subset of all possible users.

For example: in Active Directory, I have users “A”, “B”, “C”, “D”, “E”, “F” and “G” which all have OpenFire access and Spark installed on their desktops. “A” would like to periodically send a message to “C”, “D”, and “E” which would be exactly the same to each user, which makes opening separate chat windows to each user just to send the same message rather cumbersome.

Is there a way around this?

Otherwise, I love the OpenFire/Spark platform and definitely plan on using it for a very long time!

Nevermind. After a bit of playing around, I got the Broadcast plugin working to my liking.

I love this stuff,

I’m struggling with the broadcast plugin. How can I send a broadcast message to a specific group?

How can I send a message to [group]@[serviceName].[serverName]? Shall I use Spark or some Openfire console tool?

I’m only able to send messages to contacts but not to whole groups…
