Dagnabbit redfire won't work!

Howdy,

I will admit it. My skills have been thwarted by redfire.

I have openfire 3.7.0 up and running without a problem, but I can’t get redfire plugin to work if my life depended on it. Would someone please be so kind as to post some instructions that are a bit more explicit than upload the .war file? On the redfire google code page there are 4 packages. a zip for 3.7 and above (which I assume I need) then at the bottom of the list there is a more recent file called red5.war, which says its Version 0.1.11 of the red5 plugin for openfire.

Any guidance would be killer, because regardless of what I put in the plugins folder it won’t run and nothing happens. Does this plugin require a functioning red5 server before it will work?

thanks in advance.

red5.war is the old red5 plugin for openfire. Not suppirted any more, but still needed by folks because of the Spark plugin

  1. stop openfire

  2. Unzip redfire370-0.0.0.2.zip and put the redfire.war file in the plugins folder. make sure there is no existing redfire folder

  3. restart redfire

if you dont see the home page at http://your_server:7070/redfire then look in your log files for errors and post them here.

There are currently no web pages in the Openfire admin web console to configure.

It does not need a Red5 server. The red5 server is embedded in the plugin. It does need port 1935 free on your server.
