Database corruption

I had an installation of Widfire 2.4.1 that was running fine for awhile. However, when I recently added a large batch of new users I noticed some odd things happening:

  1. New users would appear in their groups, but not in the overall “online” list that is in Spark.

  2. New users wouldn’'t appear at all in Spark in the online or offline areas. There were not visible at anytime, even when logged in.

  3. Certain users were not able to update their personal information and got a vCard error when they tried to do so.

These problems seemed to be fixed by deleting the old DB and then creating a new one for Wildfire to use.

Any ideas why this may have occured? I didn’'t do any modifications to the DB other than what you can do an access through the Wildfire web interface.
