Database usage

Hi,

I’'m pretty new to wildfire and I have some questions about database usage:

is it possible to dump nodes described in pubsub article (http://www.jivesoftware.org/articles/pubsub.jsp ) to some database and then make queries on this databaase?

Is it possible to use mysql database instead of builtin database?

Maybe this are stupid questions but I’'d be glad if someone could clarify this to me.

Thanks in advance for reply,

Milan

on the MySQL question, Yes, you can use MySQL with Wildfire as your external database. You have to setup MySQL first, then during your installation and configuration of Wildfire, you can have it look to this datase instead of any internal one.

On the PUB part of the question, sorry I do not have any information, but I am sure IT2000 or one of the other people have information there.

Hey milan,

As Jeff said, you can use MySQL with Wildfire. You can read the Database Schema Guide[/url] to learn more about the way pubsub nodes are being stored in the database. BTW, Wildfire 2.6.2 to be released tomorrow will include a small modification to the pubsubNode table.

Thank you (both of you). I’‘ve already seen specification on jabber and I’'d be really glad if even more help on modsub would be available (maybe some example), because it is really very poverfull feature. Thanks again.

Hello!

Maybe I am too dumb to find it, but is there any link to this article to be found somewhere on this site. I stumbled across this post here and it’'s a shame that its so hard to find as this article is excellent stuff!

Hey Starry,

We are still adding more links to the new articles page. You can surf to that page from http://www.jivesoftware.org/wildfire/documentation.jsp. In the near future we will be adding more links to the article.
