Date does not change.... initally

running Openfire 3.4.2 on windows 2003 server standard

Spark 2.5.7 on linux and 2.5.8 on Windows XP clients…

What happens:

when a user sends a new message to a contact… it shows up under the date you last sent that user a message in the history… the time stamp is correct however… now if you close that chat window and re-open it… the message that initally was under the wrong date is displayed under the correct date in the history… it looks the same on the recieving end… new message under wrong date… but correct time… same behavior if you close and re-open.

I have seen this behavior in both the windows and linux clients…

Below is what the history looks like… when I 1st send a message…

Monday, December 3, 2007

(3:04 PM) Dan: yeah…

(3:05 PM) Kim: oh, well, did she figure it out?

(8:23 PM) Dan: test this message was sent on 12/17/07

And if I close the contact window and reopen it… you get…

Monday, December 3, 2007

(3:04 PM) Dan: yeah…

(3:05 PM) Kim: oh, well, did she figure it out?

Monday, December 17, 2007

(8:23 PM) Dan: test this message was sent on 12/17/07

Any thoughts??

Ah, yes, the “live chat” section is handled slightly different from the historical section. SPARK-905 =)

I have attached Niklas patch for this issue here http://www.igniterealtime.org/issues/browse/SPARK-905
