the Enterprise Plugin offers the ability to disable vCard changes for Spark users.
If you are using LDAP as the back-end system for the users then then vCards are read-only.
As there is no plugin available to block vCard updates there is no out-of-the-box solution to do this. And I guess that this solution would prevent the XMPP standard.
I could imagine that changing the vCard field in the DB to VARCHAR(10000) instead of BLOB or whatever it is will cause update errors for users if they try to insert a photo within the vCard. That’'s probably a very evil solution and I have no idea if it works fine.
