Difference between Asterick and Spark

Hi,

I am using Spark as Messsenger for my organization. What is the basic difference between spark and Asterick? Is there any call dialing system in Asterick?

Regads,

Ajay Rathod.

Asterisk is a free PBX server (phone exchange, it can handle “regular” phone and VOIP). Spark is a XMPP/Jabber client.

Hi,

Spark needs Wildfire (or any other xmpp server) to enable text ccommunication, and

VoIP phones need Asterisk (or any other PBX) to enable voice communication.

The Asterisk Plugin allows one to connect Wildfire to Asterisk and thus display incoming calls within Spark or use Spark to dial. Spark is not a VoIP client, so you need a VoIP phone.

Unclear, ask your boss if it is possible to change the PBX.

Do I need IP Phones?

No, but special hardware to support normal phones.

Or can I do it with my existing PBX system. Is it possible?

Yes
