Is there a way to disable users from using avatars.
currently there is none. I like this feature except that currently one can use ‘‘large’’ avatars. If its size would be limited to 96x96 this would be much better.
Out of curiousity, what is the use case for disabling avatars?
Huh? The same as with disabling emoticons, etc. To stop people playing with their messengers instead of working And avatars are cluttering interface, imho.
avatars and emotions should be only enabled for admins
I did ask Gato about ACL’'s for plugins / users / components so one can adjust if user Oleg may use gmail-s2s, an ICQ component or change the avatar. So this is still an idea and no JM-issue.
Emotions are of course a 100% client feature, while avatars could also be handled by the server. A Wifi plugin like the content filter which modify vcard changes could do the job.

I dont care about this as long as i can disable this in my client. But some bosses can treat this stuff like something childish and disturbing, so wount let deploying it until this’'ll be disabled.
This capability will be available in Spark version 2.8.2
