Duo license ? load balancing or mirroring?

hi,

I found that the openfire is running under duo license “Open Source GPL” and “commercially”, so, is that means, normal openfire is running under GPL and commercially is for the Enterprise plugin?

Moreover, i found Enterprise plugin provides clustering, so that, how many database it will connect to? Still one and clustering is just providing performance enhancement (eg. load balancing), not mirroring of database?

Hey BillChan,

Correct, the GPL portion of the license refers to the server while the commercial portion is referring to the enterprise plugin which enables clustering among other things. When using clustering you’re gaining stability and fail-over and would use a load balancer in front of the nodes. Both nodes would be using the same database so no mirroring would be done.
