I’ve managed to get OpenFire working with an LDAP system in which the UID of each user is their email address (even though this breaks JID rules).
It all seems to work, and I’m successfully loggin in and using it as an IM gateway but in the user list, any users that have an email as their UID fail to show up. As the attached screenshot shows, there are 44 users on the system, but only 4 are listed - the ones that have JID-compliant names.
Is there a fix for this?
