Currently, Jive Messenger supports the old-style (deprecated) SSL connections between the client and the server. Support for TLS connections as defined in the XMPP Core spec are not currently supported, so some clients may not work properly.
Other than that, you should be able to do client-side encryption (such as PGP) if you have a client that supports it.
