hi there i’‘ve just got jive working with LDAP, and now i’‘m running my exodus clients and i’‘m trying to add one another, but it dosn’'t seam to be working very well, they just sit there as pending … can someone help me out as to why there doing that?

Pending means a message has been sent to the other user notifying them a subscription to their Presence has been requested. The easiest thing to do would be to be logged in as either user on two seperate computers and send subscription requests back and forth.

Or, use a client like Psi that allows you to be signed in to more than one account at the same time.

I had a problem similar to this, but it was that I wasn’'t using the fully qualified user name i.e. I was typing ‘‘carlos’’ and Exodus was appending ‘‘jabber.org’’ to my user name, instead of typing ‘‘carlos@rockwithme.org’’ - once I did that, voila . . .
