Not sure what other people think of this but we’d find it useful for the default role for a moderated room to be participant rather than visitor. Openfire defaults to visitor, whereas other servers (Tigase I think) default to participant. I don’t think the spec enforces either, would it be possible to make it part of the room configuration? I’m happy to look at this if there’s a JIRA ticket assigned.
