Feature Request: Roster window icon behavior options

I have a user requesting an option to hide the taskbar icon when the roster window is open so that only the tray icon is visible. (Ala WinAmp)

That’'s an interesting request. The issues I see with this is that your tracking of presence, etc. would be limited to some extent. I tend to rely on the tray to tell me what my current presence is because i always forget to change it within Spark after lunch, etc. What do others feel though?

Cheers,

Derek

In hindsight, I probably could have explained this better.

Here’‘s what I (and the user who asked about it) had in mind. Basically, we’'d like the option to hide the task bar tab (or button whichever you want to call it) for the roster window. The system tray icon would remain visible at all times to indicate your status by the state of its graphic. A single click on the icon in the system tray would show or hide the roster like in Spark 2.0.7. If the roster is open but in the background, a single click would bring it to the foreground.

The right click behavior on the system tray icon would remain as it is; allowing you to set your status, log out, etc.

The only time Spark would appear in your task bar tab list would be for open conversation windows.

Does that make more sense?

And maybe when a Login window appears (when Auto Login is disabled, or there is a problem connecting with server or after log out, because Spark doesnt have an offline state).

Of course. I use Winamp and Miranda in such style. Actually this is a Tool Window style.
