Feature Requests

We are trialling using Wildfire and Spark in a business environment,

I would like to be able to control the avatar’'s as administrator.

It would be good if there were more options under the ‘‘users’’ setup.

I would like to disable them having their own avatars and also being able

to change their profiles.

Also it would be nice if a field was added for their extension phone number.

This would be displayed in the roster.

I am currently appending the extension phone number to their displayed name.

Another feature I would like is when starting a conference call the displayed requesting message is timestamped.

Hi Matthew,

you are not using LDAP, are you?

Making some tables read-only would be a hardcore DBA method doing this. I added a comment to issue JM-160 and hope that it will be implemented. Maybe you also want to vote for it and add a comment?

Also it would be nice if a field was added for their extension phone number.

The phone number should already be stored in the profile, but there’'s no ability to display it within Spark. The commercial support may help you with this.

Another feature I would like is when starting a conference call the displayed requesting message is timestamped.

Was discussed before, I’'m not aware that one did create an issue so far.

No , I’'m not using LDAP. Can anyone tell me what extra features I would gain from this?

The phone number should be able to be set from the admin console in Wildfire.

and displayed in Spark roster.

Though not a major issue for us as I just append it to the user name displayed.

The conferencing is where Spark/Wilfire lets us down.

We have users that rely on the conferencing in MSNMSGR to do their job.

Conferencing comparisons with MSN

you can drag/drop contacts to add users/contacts to a conference/group discussion

you don’‘t need to accept a conference message, you’'re just in it.

conference is timestamped

Matthew,

Thanks for the feedback and feature requests.

A few specific questions:

Conferencing comparisons with MSN

you can drag/drop contacts to add users/contacts

to a conference/group discussion

Yep, that’'s missing right now. I filed the feature request as SPARK-255.

you don’'t need to accept a conference message,

you’'re just in it.

I’'m not sure what you mean here. Do you mean that whenever somebody invites you to a room, you automatically join it?

conference is timestamped

Are you saying that you don’'t want timestamps in conferences? Or, you do want them?

Regards,

Matt

Thanks for filing the request.

Do you need a separate logon to comment on the feature requests?

When you do a group conversation with MSN you don’'t need the recipients to

click ‘‘accept’’ to join the conversation. Everyone is part of the conversation from the start.

( I think Pandion can do this. )

eg: so you have a user option in Spark to automatically join a conference call

without requiring you to click on ‘‘accept’’

With the timestamp, when someone requests a group conversation with you

a timestamp is shown so you know when the request / group chat was initiated.

( ie: Yes, we do want a timestamp )

This would give you an indication if the group chat was current or was eg. an hour old.

Hope that makes sense.

regards,

Matthew.

Hi Matthew,

you need to register once again to comment the issue, yes. I don’'t use LDAP with Wifi but I think that the roster information (avatar, phone number) is read form LDAP and not writable as Wifi uses a read-only user.

"This would give you an indication if the group chat was current or was eg. an hour old. ", I didn’‘t check the other posts, this feature is requested very often but there’'s imho still no issue to vote for

@autojoin: this was also discussed before, I’‘m not sure about an issue. Doing Autojoin one will see what was spoken in the room even if one was away. It should probably only possible for invitation from known JID’'s or configurable to join any invitation.

PS: Seems more like Spark issues than Wifi Dev anyhow.
