I have an OpenFire server that is federated with GoogleTalk - messaging is fine and outgoing presence (to GoogleTalk users) works fine.
But … incoming presence from GoogleTalk just doesn’t seem to work at all i.e. users on my OpenFire server never see a GoogleTalk presence update unless they logout and login again.
I’ve tried everything I can think of, including adding debug code to OpenFire to trace XMPP messages but all I ever see from Google Talk is the occasional <presence … type=“probe”> message.
Any suggestions ? GoogleTalk presence seems to work fine with jabber.org so I’m wondering if there is something in the configuration I’ve missed … but I’ve been through it with a toothcomb and can’t see anything.
