Hello good day!
I just take a test, I installed the open fire in a VM on ubuntu server on my computer, plugged in the company I work for mstsc. SPARK customer use it.
I connected the spark on my server with an open fire user testing, and sent it to my computer also connected to a spark with another user id. occurred and sending perfectly. currently use the openfire 3.7.1 and spark 2.6.3.

It would not be setting up your firewall? make sure there will be some type of lock
Or if not using the Openfire plugin filter contents of the package.

I hope I have helped hug.
