Fresh install in VM : not possible to connect to admin

Hi,

I’ve just installed Openfire from 3.6.4_all.deb in a VBox Debian VM .

Connection to admin pannel is not possible

I have checked openfire.xml, restarted install several times and still do not see where problem is

DB : Mysql, database created as “openfire”

No LDAP, simply direct connection

Where should I investigate further please.

Hi,

it looks like your database configuration is not right.

With this error

java.net.UnknownHostException
MESSAGE: [host-name]

a connection to the database can not be made. Are you sure that the database part in openfire.xml is fine?
