Groups, invites

Hi,

I would like to ask a question about groups.

I am having trouble with it when creating a private group chat and i automatically invite a few people. The thing is, they never get the invite or join the group.

The only way is to go to “discover channels” find the group and join in.

Could anyone guide me in the right direction?

I have a packetfilter plugin set to pass all from group to group.
I have the muc service plugin
external service discovery plugin
search and subscription plugin

Cheers

Anyone? :face_with_head_bandage:

I am assuming that you’re referring to Multi-User Chat (MUC) here. Inviting people into a group chat can be done by sending the invitee a specifically crafted XMPP stanza, as descibed in XEP-0045: Multi-User Chat. This typically is done by users, to invite other users.

If you, as a system administrator, want to have certain people join certain chatrooms automatically, then you probably want to use the Bookmarks plugin, and create a bookmark for a room, that is marked as ‘autojoin’. Clients that implement this feature will then automatically join the chatroom when they log in.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I am reffering to the MUC.

Thanks for the tip, i will try it! :+1:

Because as of now if you invite someone he never gets the invite nor gets in the group. He has to manually type in the group to get in.
