How can I begin to read the source code of Wildfire?

I think it too hard for me to understand the relation between the code,so who can tell me how I can begin with the development of Jabber?

If you read the code right away without the help of some IDE (e.g. NetBeans),

it would certainly be difficult.

I think to start, reading the API document along with the code would be a good idea.

Of course the codes have the document included already, but you can get a clearer

picture because you don’'t have to read the explanations between lines of codes.

Thanks very much for giving so much suggestion,I think it very helpful for me.however,I am a newer for using Java,so It must be surely difficult for me to understand the relation of the code.
