How do i add/search for a group on spark client

How do i search for a group and add to my contact list on spark client. Note: These groups were populated from Active directory.

This is not supported. You can only search for actual users. The only way is to make such group shared in the Openfire Administration Console and share it to a users of other groups, but not just for one user.

How can i send a broadcast message to all users or a group that is not on my roster(spark client)?

Read readme of Broadcast plugin http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/openfire/plugins/broadcast/readme.html , but i’m afraid you won’t be able to use this with Spark. Spark doesn’t have an option to send a generic message and point to what JID it should go. Unless you will use a client which has such option.
