How do I change the name that is displayed in the contact list?

Hi all,

New user of Openfire so forgive me if this is something that has been covered, I couldnt find a relevant answer in a search.

I have openfire configured to pull users from my AD group “OpenFire”. The problem is that it is displaying the user login name rather than the display name in the contact list.

In other words the contact list shows bsmith@mydomain.com rather than Bob Smith. I am sure that this must be a simple field mapping erroron my part but I cant seem to find the way to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same question. Was hoping someone could answer this. We too are using LDAP auth and the users would prefer not to see the JID in their client, but preferrably . I’'ve tried several ways to approach this, but none worked.
