Idle user timeout on yahoo?

if i’‘m idle for a period of time (30 mins?) using the gateway to yahoo, it disconnects me from yahoo. my client can’'t reconnect to yahoo. i have to restart wildfire. is this a bug or a feature.

You know, now that you mention it, I see that behavior in PyYIMt too. I never put two and two together but yeah, I’‘ll be auto-disconnected if I don’‘t do anything. Anyway, I’‘m sure there’'s some sort of ping I probably ought to be sending … or the API ought to be sending it. =/

Surely irrespective of having a ping or not the client should be able to reconnect if disconnected without a wildfire restart.

not sure if this would help, but if i run my yahoo messenger in proxy mode, it periodically fetches this url

http://shttp.msg.yahoo.com/notify, so i guess this would be like a keep alive mechanism…

my client show this in its debug log hundreds of times around the time it loses connection:

Input error from yahoo: Source: InputThread

GATE-89

Hrm. I made two issues for this. GATE-104

I’'m closing the earlier one as the new one has more references. =)
