Increasing Java Memory in 3.6.0 Debian

Hello,

I am running Openfire 3.6.0 installed through the deb installer. The number of users on the server has been increasing and I don’t feel comfortable with the default 64MB of Java Memory. I have been searching through the forum but I haven’t been able to find a solution that has worked for me. I am assuming that there is a config file somewhere that I most modify, but I haven’t been able to find it in any of the locations specified.

Thank you

You need to edit /etc/default/openfire. You can follow this guide about configuring the jvm heap settings to adjust the amount of memory used: http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/docs/DOC-1033
