Hey guys, I’m planning on having (hopefully) up to 1 million users on my servers. How well would openfire stack up to this?
Also, would it be possible to install openfire on Microsoft’s Azure or Amazon’s EC2? They seem a like lot more cost effective solutions than typical setups.
I don’t remember anyone sharing a use case with 1 million users here, so probably you won’t receive any answer. Also i don’t know will it work on the cloud. Openfire is known to scale to tens of thousands of users and with the use of Connection Managers to probably hundred thousands of users or more, but i’m not sure about 1 million. Anyway, you will need hell lots of RAM for doing this with java (Openfire).
