Is sparkweb stable?

I’ve tried using the demo on http://www.igniterealtime.org/sparkweb/ and there are many bugs.

  • There is an option to create account but the button ‘create’ doesn’t work.

  • Adding chat server and friends sometimes just hang without a response.

  • I used two browsers and tested it for a couple of minutes and sometime messages are not arriving.

  • The GUI is not clear and the responses when performing an action are slow and confusing.

In the past you advertised BOSH support as stable although it was terrible.

I’ve wasted months trying to use it while you knew it is completely broken.

I know it is an open source project…

Does anyone really use this client on a big scale with success?

Thanks

iirc that sparkweb is pretty old, although it’s possible it was updated since I left.

sparkweb struggles with ssl and that is why we don’t use it. I don’t really have a good alternative and for that reason we haven’t deployed it to all areas. For one, I would like for our terminal server users to be able to use the chat server but I will not install spark and java on the term server. java would tank the term server in no time.
