I work in a large organisation that uses one domain in AD and about 60+ OUs, one for each company.
I’ve added my company as the base DN for our IM, but would like to add some outside people (not domain users) and some people from elsewhere in the domain the the system.
Is there anyway to do this? Ideally it’d be nice to create standard database users for these people but it doesn’t seem to be possible whilst using AD.
The other option is to slacken the base DN and use a filter, and then add domain accounts for the external users, but this isn’t ideal.
Any thoughts on this predicament? Any assistance much appreciated!

Te comento como lo solucione en mi organizacion, si bien no tenemos la estructura compleja que tiene tu AD mi caso fue que no todos puedan usar el IM.
Asi que lo solucione poniendo como base DN a la rama que contiene a todos los usuarios y usando un filtro en mi caso un atributo espesifico para decir que ese usuario puede usar IM. con eso no importa donde este el usuario usando el filtro solo va a traer a los usuarios habilitados para usar IM. Esto te complica un poco la administracion porque si te piden darle a una rama entera tenes que modificar el atributo de todos los usuarios de esa rama.
