Java Heap Space error and unable to connect to Admin Console

Hi all,

So I did a search for the issue I am having and only found one request which matched it and that was from 10 years ago and it had no replies.

Currently I am seeing an issue with our Openfire Server where it is randomly dropping connection and when I log in to the admin console I only see the following:

Caused by:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

I am unable to get into the console to change the reserved memory for Java and restarting the server only addresses the issue for a short amount of time. How can I change the memory size from outside the console?

Actually, there is no way to increase Java Memory from Admin Console. You have to do it outside of it. It is described in the documentation (Custom Parameters) http://download.igniterealtime.org/openfire/docs/latest/documentation/install-guide.html
