I’'m looking for a Jabber server implemented in Java - does anyone know of one? (Preferably in a production or stable beta form).
In my biased opinion, I’'d highly recommend Jive Messenger. You can find more information at:
http://www.jivesoftware.com/products/messenger
The server is pretty far into the beta process and a final release will be available within about a month.

Matt
Is Jive Messenger open source?
I know another server, open sorce server, the javajabber at www.javajabber.net

No, Jive Messenger is not open source. However, the 10 user version of Jive Messenger Professional is free, and pricing beyond that is very reasonable.

The server you mention is not even close to fully functioning, as far as I know.

Yeah, 10 users! That’'s not a solution for a java server in a university.
My university don’'t accept nothing unless opensource, so the javajabber could be a solution!
If don’'t works wy try fix it!
