Java memory progress bar problem

I tried researching this phenomenon by looking at all sorts of Java memory issues, but nobody seems to have posted anything regarding this problem yet. In a nutshell, when I look at the Java memory progress bar on the main page of the Openfire 3.7.1 in the “Environment” section it shows a certain number and percentage used, but if I keep refreshing the web page it always increases by a few megabytes and percents each time. This continues until it reaches 300MB and then the counting starts again somewhere from the 50MB range. This cyclical reading of the memory being used by Java is puzzling to me as I’ve never noticed such behavior in the past. I just upgraded Java version to the latest Java 7. Would anyone be so kind to help me with this? I am not noticing any problems with the client connectivity, but I still would like to fix this - if at all possible. The PEP thing is already set to False. Any other suggestions? Here are the specifics of my setup:

The thing I want to add is that the full cycle takes place in less than a minute. That worries me. Anyone out there who have already tested the 3.7.1. with the latest Java 7?
